ABOUT SAMETI

SAMETI is a State level training Institute established in Trivandrum to impart training to extension functionaries involved in the implementation of ATMA/Department Schemes. SAMETI is the only National level training Institute in Kerala functioning by the fund provided under ATMA (60: 40).

SAMETI was registered under Travancore-Cochin Scientific and Charitable Registration Act 1955 before District Registrar on 23-01-2008 with Reg. No.144/08.

SAMETI started functioning from 2008 onwards and shifted to the new building in 2011.

Become the front runner in the field of training and development in Agriculture and Allied Sectors constantly seeking provisional excellence in its path, there by aid in enhancing quality, productivity and sustainability in the primary production sector in the state of Kerala.

Mission of SAMETI

To function as the Nodal State Level Training Institute in the area of Agricultural Extension and Management Development by providing capacity building support of various levels of stake holders both in the public and private sector thereby equip them to undertake/ face the emerging opportunities / challenges in the broad spectrum of Agriculture and Allied Sectors in the State of Kerala.

Organizational Setup of SAMETI

For the smooth functioning of SAMETI, Government has constituted various committees and bodies viz. The General Council, The Executive Council and Technical Support Group.

The General Council of SAMETI shall be responsible fo taking decisions on policy matters of the SAMETI in accordance with the rules and byelaws. Agricultural Production Commissioner of the State is the Chairman of the General Council.

The Executive Council of SAMETI shall be responsible for the management and administration of the affairs of the SAMETIin accordance with the rules and byelaws. Secretary (Agriculture) is the chairman of the Executive Council.

Technical Support Group is a multidisciplinary team of experts from different disciplines to advice and recommend SAMETI to undertake various activities.

The Director is the Chief Executive Officer of SAMETI. Director, SAMETI is the Member Secretary/ Convener of General Council & Executive Council.
